Set the tiers before opening
The organiser and Owlin agree the products, order period and pricing tiers for each reference. This format is limited to a maximum of one month. The tiers and maximum price should be understandable from the start of reservation. An example price is not an offer for another model or project, so agree the actual figures before sharing them with the group.
Count pieces of the same reference
Price reductions depend on each reference’s quantity, not on group membership or shop visitors. An order for several pieces contributes its quantity; different models do not automatically share a tier. Progress information shows the estimated price and pieces needed for the next tier, distinguishing a simple product selection from confirmed reservations that actually count towards the group total.
Reserve without paying the maximum immediately
For an order requiring payment, the process saves a card through Stripe and obtains consent to charge at closing. It is not a sum held throughout the month, nor a full-price charge automatically followed by a refund. The buyer needs to finish reservation confirmation before their selection contributes to the quantities used for pricing. A basket alone is not a confirmed reservation.
Read the final amount line by line
At closing, each reference uses the tier reached by its confirmed reservations. A basket can therefore contain some products still at the first tier and others with lower prices. Selected options and applicable delivery costs must already be announced within the accepted maximum. This arrangement does not then add a single-piece surcharge above that maximum when the final quantities are known.
Allow for payment follow-up
Charging is triggered at closing under the sale’s configuration, but a bank may request authentication or decline the payment. The buyer must then follow their order-space instructions to resolve it: a saved card is not proof of successful payment. Before offering this mechanism to your group, confirm availability, tiers, delivery and follow-up arrangements with Owlin rather than assuming every project uses it.
Your checklist before starting
- Check that this sale explicitly uses volume pricing.
- Read the tiers by reference and the announced maximum.
- Complete reservation so the pieces are counted.
- Check the final amount and payment status after closing.
Models, prices, minimum quantities, options and lead times must be confirmed in your quote and the terms of your sale. Read the Owlin Custom terms.
